Hi, I'm Shoshannah. I grew up Jewish in a rural area, with my mother and her mother my main connections to living Judaism. That's my grandmother, a very fashionable woman, in the picture behind my shoulder. In my 30s I became more religiously observant, and one of the most profound changes in my everyday life was dressing with tznius.
I was fascinated with this concept -- that by dressing non-provocatively, we make it possible for all the beautiful nuances of our selfhood to shine clearly.
In time, however, I found that I was lost in "covering up" and spending less energy on expression. I began thinking that the way I dressed was "the best I could do, considering the restrictions..." So I went on a mission to reclaim tznius for myself as the expression and celebration it was meant to be. Working to channel my grandmother's knack for style into current and tzniusdik fashions, I launched Tzelebrate Tsnius.
I hope you will be inspired to Tzelebrate your inner/outer selfhood too!
